Flying To Sedona

About a year ago, I took a week to visit Sedona, Arizona. I must say I was overwhelmed by the beauty of this town and the environs surrounding it. I could easily live there in one of the beautiful houses overlooking the valleys, deserts and the mountains around it. So much color was evident as well. When I got back from the trip, I couldn't seem to get the title out of my head, "Flying To Sedona" kept swirling around until I came up with a guitar riff and lyrics then recorded it in two days. It's also a very different vocal style for me.

Flyin’ To Sedona

Lyrics and Music by George Douglas Lee

I’ll see you tomorrow, but not today

Had to beg and borrow, to get on this plane

I’m leavin’ in an hour, my heart’s under attack

Flyin’ to Sedona, to bring my baby back

Flyin’ to Sedona, my heart is in that town

Flyin’ to Sedona, I hope you come around

When I finally see you, gonna take you by the hand

Into the painted desert, you are my promised land

I can’t wait to see you, take my chances on your love

There’s magic in the mountains, and the big blue sky above

Flyin’ to Sedona, my heart is in that town

Flying to Sedona, wheels are coming down

Flyin’ to Sedona, I hope you come around

Flyin’ to Sedona,

Did you think I could forget you?

And just leave it all to fate

I’m on my way to get you, hope I’m not too late

I don’t know what else to do, gotta do what I believe in

Have to get to Arizona, that’s why I’m leavin’

I want my baby back!

LEAD BREAK

I’ll see you tomorrow, but not today

Ride the devils backbone when I get off the plane

Sun is down and moon is high, where the spirits lie

I’ll be there tomorrow to bring you back in time

Flyin’ to Sedona, my love is in that town

Flying to Sedona, wheels are comin’ down

Flyin’ to Sedona,

Flyin’ to Sedona, I hope you come around
